![]() Beautiful eyes, a cute button nose, or a million dollar smile, do these things matter more than what makes up the very essence of our souls? Is having a toned physique better than having good moral and character? Don’t get me wrong, i truly believe that we should always take care of ourselves, physically, mentally, emotionally, all of the above, but I wonder at times if we put more emphasis on whats inside of us, rather then whats on us, would dating and relationships be different? Would the world be a better place? Would we hold people to higher standards? As humans, we have an internal and external time clock in which we call our lives. I understand that as humans, its only natural for our physical attraction to someone be the first thing that captivates us. As long as I could remember, we’ve made it a point to encourage people to “look their best”, keep up their appearances, always look good, but why haven’t we taught people that “looking good” is only skin deep, literally. I cant speak on behalf of everyone, I can only speak from the place in my mind that understands and comprehends things. I don’t necessarily remember when I first heard that saying, “Don’t be eye candy, be soul food”, but all I know is that I fell in love with that saying and the quirky meaning behind it.
